I'm Jessica, a Head of People with 15 years of building People & Culture functions from scratch inside startups and high-growth tech companies. I've worked across SaaS, restaurant-tech, and digital product agencies, and most of my career has been spent as the first or only People leader in the room.
My approach is simple: people strategy is business strategy. Engagement, retention, compensation, performance, these aren't HR exercises, they're how a company actually performs. I lead with data (eNPS, retention, time-to-fill, dashboards I built myself) but I refuse to lose the human thread in the spreadsheets.
I've doubled headcount at one company, navigated a full acquisition at another, taken eNPS from +17 to +60 and retention from 56% to 86% in a single year. I've run payroll, comp, IT, and HR compliance across 21 states solo, and I still think the most important thing I do is make sure managers know how to actually manage.
One more thing worth saying: I built this site myself using AI tools (yes, including the chat assistant in the corner). I've become a genuine AI enthusiast over the last year, both as a People leader thinking about how it changes the way teams work, and as someone who loves experimenting with it firsthand.
